The Card Yard Fraud Prevention Terms

The Card Yard takes serious measures to prevent fraud activity on purchasing and selling gift cards. We strive to eliminate fraudulent orders and will work with law enforcement agencies to detect and appropriately prosecute those committing fraudulent transactions. Fraudulent orders may include gift cards purchased or sold using stolen funds, or which may have come from an unauthorized source or illegally obtained. The Card Yards reserves the right to hold gift card orders while we follow up with customers on the source of funds used to purchase gift cards and verifying the identity and original owner of the gift cards. The Card Yard reserves the right to reject any card or cards that we believe, in our sole discretion, may be fraudulent or stolen, were purchased with stolen funds, or which may have come from an unauthorized source, or which otherwise may pose a financial risk to us, our customers, or merchants and gift card issuers.

1. Fraud Inspection Rights

a. We may request gift card origination information including but not limited to a purchase receipt for each gift card, buyer information and identity, and date of purchase.

b. The Card Yard has the right to hold suspicious orders while obtaining information to support a genuine transaction.

c. No sales transaction is complete, and The Card Yard will not incur a payment obligation to you, until The Card Yard accepts delivery of and verifies all gift cards associated with your sales transaction.

d. The Card Yard reserves the right to reject any gift cards that we believe may cause a financial, security or fraudulent risk to us, our service, and our customers.

2. Orders Flagged as “Fraud”

a. Orders may be flagged as fraud if The Card Yard suspects the gift cards have come from an unauthorized source or illegally obtained.

b. The Card Yard reserves the right to flag orders as fraudulent if the gift cards sold to The Card Yard were purchased within the last 90 days from date of sale to The Card Yard service.

c. If your transaction is flagged as fraudulent you agree to provide the requested information in a timely manner including but not limited to a purchase receipt for each gift card, buyer information, identity verification, and date of purchase.

d. Customers that fail to supply sufficient information for transaction verification or customers that have sent in orders flagged as fraudulent or rejected will have 30 days (from the date of order acknowledgment) to reclaim their gift cards. To reclaim gift cards you must send a self addressed stamped envelope to The Card Yard at:

e. Any gift cards that are not reclaimed within the 30 day time frame are considered property of The Card Yard by default, and will be disposed of.

The sale of stolen property or gift cards purchased with stolen funds is strictly forbidden and violates the law. We strongly support law enforcement agencies to recover any stolen property, and we urge the prosecution of those responsible for knowingly attempting to sell such items through The Card Yard service or otherwise engaging in criminal fraudulent activity.

The Card Yard will actively work with gift card issuers, gift card service providers, credit card vendors, as well as appropriate law enforcement agencies to detect and eliminate fraudulent activity including gift cards purchased with stolen funds, or which may have come from an unauthorized source. Fraudulent activity will not be permitted through The Card Yard service and all violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
